SCHEDULE OF EVENTS-Opening of The McCormick Tribune Campus Center


Tuesday, September 30, 2003:
Press Tour, Dedication & Reception, The McCormick Tribune Campus Center
   
10 a.m.-noon: Pre-dedication press tour and press availability, Auditorium
2-3:30 p.m.: Optional photo exhibit and Main Campus tour, meet at S. R. Crown Hall
4:45-5:30 p.m: Ribbon cutting, south entrance of building, featuring IIT President Lew Collens, Mayor Richard M. Daley, Rem Koolhaas and McCormick Tribune Foundation Chairman John Madigan
6-8:30 p.m.: Invitation-only dedication reception
7:30-8:00 p.m.: Dedication program featuring President Lew Collens, Architect Rem Koolhaas, McCormick Tribune Foundation President Dick Behrenhausen and Former Illinois Governor Jim Thompson.
   
Construction Photography Exhibit continues through October 16, 2003.

Support for this photographic record of The McCormick Tribune Campus Center construction was provided through a grant from The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation of Chicago.
The gallery will be open to the public from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday; and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday.
   
Friday October 3, 2003:
Official University Opening, The McCormick Tribune Campus Center
   
2-5 p.m.: Open House for IIT faculty, staff and students with music by Vandercook Jazz Quartet. Expert Docents will be positioned in various spaces of the building and will be able to explain the building's technology, construction and design to visitors. Open to all with University I.D.
3:30 p.m.: Opening ceremony featuring President Lew Collens and students and faculty
4-6 p.m.: Faculty Reception in the University Club

Saturday, October 4, 2003:
Public Opening, The McCormick Tribune Campus Center
   
11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Expert Docents will be positioned in various spaces of the building and will be able to explain the building's technology, construction and design to visitors.
2 p.m.: Public Lecture in HUB Auditorium by Rem Koolhaas, architect of The McCormick Tribune Campus Center. Admission is free with IIT identification card, $10 for general public. Seating limited.
